As she stepped upward she must have heard a noise from behind her, or perhaps glimpsed the visage that passed over her for she turned and peered into the inky black alley outside her door. "Hello..?" When she heard nothing more, she took keys from her bag and opened the apartment door. She wasted no time in climbing the stairs and she shoved Shadow into the dim apartment hard enough to send her sprawling onto the floor. The wind had been knocked out of her and she gasped for air...Quickly the door was closed and locked as deftly as if she had been inside Shadow's flat previously. A small lamp cast enough light for her to find the telephone which she tossed onto the floor after extracting the extension cord from the jack. She garotted Shadow's throat with the cord. Shadow tried feebly to choke her assailant in retaliation, but being winded before the strangulation began, she just didn't have the air or the strength to fend off her attacker.
